Repeat Prescriptions
The right hand side of your prescription form can be used to order your medication.
Please try and reorder medication using this side of your prescription ticking the items you require and handing it in at reception.
Alternatively you can send your request by post enclosing an SAE, or telephone the surgery. A collection service is available through some pharmacists – please enquire at the chemists if you wish to use this service.
Please allow 48 Hours notice when ordering a repeat prescription.
Repeat Prescriptions: Introduction of 28-day supply
The Practice have changed the quantities of your repeat prescriptions to give 28 days supply.
This change has been asked for by Welsh Assembly Government as part of helping to control the NHS Budget. Medicines account for a significant amount of all NHS spending, and this measure will reduce some of the wastage of unused medicines.
When a person’s medical condition changes, a dose may need to be increased or decreased, or a particular medicine may need to be stopped. Once a medicine has been dispensed by a pharmacy, it cannot be returned to be re-issued for another person – it has to be destroyed.
The Practice, appreciate that this may cause some inconvenience for some patients at first, as you may have to order your repeat medication more frequently than in the past.
As part of this process we would like to update our computer records with details of the medication that you actually take. You may be prescribed some medicines that you no longer take or require.
Please let us know if you are currently prescribed medicines that you don’t use any more.
